Male scientist tend to have their biggest successes before their mid-thirties and after that their ability to invent or discover something important rapidly falls. Just like male birds and animals, young men are competitive and want to attract females; their creativity increases during their twenties and thirties, but as soon as they get married and have families, it begins to disappear.
